Woman Sues Officer Over Breast Feeding Restrictions

DENVER: A mother has sued a Denver police officer, sheriff's deputies and the city itself for not allowing her to nurse her baby behind bars.

Army Shroff claims an officer violated her right to privacy by only allowing her to use a breast pump in the presence of an officer.

Shroff also said she couldn't use the pump at all inside the Denver Jail.

She claims her newborn became sick because the child did not have access to breast milk.

The city and its departments said they hadn't seen the lawsuit and could not comment.
